Unpublished illustrations of the traditional Japanese tale “The Mirror”, by Matsuyama, recreated in a very personal way by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. With “The mirror or the living portrait” we are transported to the exoticism of the Orient, but we found, as in many other works of Sophia, the value of family ties and affective experiences.
